Description
The purpose of this Nursing Professional Continuing Development course is to increase the knowledge of healthcare providers who care for and work with people who have various social determinants of health that impact their healthcare and outcomes. Nurses are also presented with information on the ethical aspects of the social determinants of health.
 
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
  1. Define Social Determinants of Health
  2. Identify the six (6) types of SDOH
  3. Explore the impact SDOH has on patient outcomes
  4. Examine the ANA Code of Ethics related to SDOH
  5. Discuss how healthcare professionals can address SDOH in the future
 
OUTCOME:
At the conclusion of this presentation, the learner will understand the importance and impact SDOH have on patients and their outcomes.
 
COMPLETION CRITERIA:
The following are required prior to successfully earning 1.0 contact hours.
  • View 100% of the recorded presentation.
  • A completed course evaluation must be submitted prior to receiving contact hours. 
    • Evaluations will be completed on-line in the CCI classroom and are due at the conclusion of the activity.
